Discovering the great DFW

When I came down in 2022, I noticed there were a lot of niche promotions and events, but very little cross over or generic events for those that had just arrived. Many of these events and clubs would also have low attendance and often die off after a few under performing meetups. Knowledge about events and things to do was in a silo and a short term item, you had to know people, or go across several different websites. Very few of these meetups and events survived for longer than a few attempted get togethers. 

 

After settling down, I come across another problem many were facing. After talking with hundreds of business owners in person, in meetings, and at various events, it become evident that many businesses were struggling to attract new residents into customers. Sure, they had their regulars, but they were struggling to tap into the tens if not hundreds of thousands of new residents coming in every year. 

 

Though these were two different angles, one being new residents trying to find things to do and the other was businesses trying to attract more customers, I thought of them as two sides of the same coin. Was there a way to bridge the gap between these two groups?

Here, we making it easier, not just for tourists or new residents, but existing residents who are moving around or want to find new activities, experiences, and friends a simple way to connect with the existing groups, organizations, events, businesses, and establishments. In the process, we also create a platform that allows small businesses and event creators to reach out to a wider audience, enabling them to have a greater chance of long term success.
